Team Belgium WTCOC Qualification Groups Last update: 13/03/24 22:40
Team Belgium qualification format 2023:
The qualification format consists of 2 stages; a pre-qualification tournament, followed up by a qualification tournament for which some players are already qualified. Both will be 10-day round robin tournaments. It is highly recommended though to play these games in real time as much as possible. No games may be ended if a player goes over his/hers time!!! This to ensure everybody has enough time to finish their games. If a player does not finish all his games by the end of the tournament, this player will be disqualified (and may be banned from later qualification tournaments). All this player's finished matches will not be counted for the final tournament result.
1. Pre-qualification tournament for Team Belgium for the WTCOC:
- Registration on website: 01/01-23/01 (20u)
- 10-day round robin tournament: 26/01-05/02
If more than 15 players register, they will be divided in 2 groups. Players registered will receive an invitation through BGA.
2. Qualification tournament for Team Belgium for the WTCOC:
10-day round robin tournament with up to 15 players: 09/02-19/02

3. Qualified players for Team Belgium for the WTCOC:
The 8 players who have the most points in the qualification tournament will form Team Belgium. If the BCOC Champion or N2xU do not reach this standard, they will be automatically added to the team. If there are ties for the 8th place, all these players will be added to the team if there are enough spots available (up to a maximum of 10). If there are not enough spaces available, ties will be broken depending on the number of tied players as follows: 2 players (best of 3 real-time duel), 3 or more players (criteria in following order 1. result of direct confrontations in the qualification tournament / 2. best of 3 real-time duel / 3. to be determined (some form of small tournament).

- Semi-finalists of the BCOC
- Remaining spots are filled with best players of the pre-qualification tournament(s)
3. Qualified players for Team Belgium for the WTCOC:
- Winner of the BCOC
- N2xU, Team Captain (to ensure continuity and organization / will have to reach a qualifying spot in the qualification tournament in order to play for the team in the WTCOC (unless WTCOC rules state otherwise))
- Best players of the qualification tournament
